Hello All I am a software developer and volunteer fighter in Hopland. Been married for 31 years. In 2006 I ran for State Assembly district 1 as a Libertarian. I want Jefferson to happen so my kids will have a chance to enjoy freedom.

      Hola!
I am an old curmudgeon about to go on Social Security (before the money runs out or they apply a means test). I have a degree in Chemical Engineering, I am a Registered Professional Mechanical Engineer here in California and I worked for a major oil company for 36 years…with half that time in Africa, SouthEast Asia, and Latin America. I am fluent in Spanish and can do a decent job speaking Indonesian. Although I was born in Oakland, I do not speak Ebonics, but I do love Tower of Power and CCR. I’ve lived in Ukiah for almost a year now, had a second home here since 2009, however my family dates back to the very early days of Mendocino County in Point Arena. I did most of my growing up in the Central Valley and had the pleasure of working four years in the Bakersfield Oil Patch. For this reason, I am not smart enough to be able to live in San Francisco. I am hoping that the Progressive Master Minds here in California will see that knuckle-draggers like me will only retard their ability to do all of the wonderful things that they want to do. And that the best thing to do is just release us to a boring Middle American agrarian fate in our own State of Jefferson. If we have to do jobs that Americans won’t do, I guess that will just have to be one of the trade-offs.

Well, that is a bit about me …. I am sure it is a bit much!

      Hi Folks,
I started out in Indiana, joined the Navy and ended up in California over 40 years ago.
Over those years I came to appreciate this wondrous state with its open space and beauty.
What I also saw over those 40 years was a degeneration of the personal freedoms that we enjoy and often take for granted.
I’ve spent my professional life in power plants both thermal and hydro with the last 20 years at the Department of Water Resources. Pursuing a change in career, I took over Water Operations for DWR reservoirs on the Feather River, including the Water master section for the Sierra Valley. I have some experience with water, water law and the challenges it creates in California.

Hello! I’m THE Mouse, most people know me as such. My government name is Kayla Brown.

I’m supposed to be a snowflake, but my parents raised me right. I’m married and have two kids. I homeschool and love it! Before I “settled down” I worked in education here in California and spent almost a year teaching in Russia (sorry folks, for me there is a Russia connection). I have half of a master’s degree in history, minored in English and Russian language (darn Russian connection keeps popping up!). I am a Civil War Reenactor with 17 years in the hobby and have drug my entire family into it. I love this country, love the idea of a free state, and the hope of a free state is the only thing keeping me here.

EDIT: Full Disclosure: I am not necessarily a supporter of the CCR from the documents that I have seen. I am here to learn, to understand, not to sabotage or anything like that. With a journalism background (Former Co-Host Jefferson State of Mine Radio and Former Shasta Lantern Editor and Contributor) I ask hard questions, and I expect straight answers. Just like basecamp, I sit back, I read, and I learn. I want to remain objective on all fronts 🙂

Mike here. Just a tad over 60 years old. 4 years in USMC, 34 years in spacecraft electronics, and now living in Willits. Volunteer at the Grange, Senior Center, Farm School of Adaptive Agriculture and Black Bart Gunfighters. And Jefferson too.
Then there is the Ranch to manage, fencing, mowing, hay, irrigation, and Mikes Power, Light and Water Company (my wife and I are off-grid), and we get to watch the Skunk Train daily.
